The first line-up that presents itself in public with the name of M31 was born in 1978, it is formed by Francesco De Angeli on drums, Giampiero Giacomello on guitar, Franco Cavallin on keyboards, Elena Ghedini on vocals, Tom Bosco on percussion and Maurizio Tiziano Moretto on bass and vocals.
The choice of the name is by the keyboardist, Franco, an astronomy
enthusiast who proposes the acronym of Messier 31 (M31)
which indicates the Andromeda nebula.
The musical genre is melodic rock, with various progressive influences,
music much appreciated by the band members.
The line-up was short-lived due to the different ideas on the type of project to be carried out and after a few performances it broke up.
